Argentina 1898 2P '''Hooker Tax'' Revenue StampDuston # 6 (Forbin #4). In the City of Rosario, Santa Fe Province, Argentina, local law required a monthly sanitary inspection of the prostitutes after which the woman would be issued a tax stamp for placement on an identity document that was to be shown to her customers. The stamp showed payment of the inspection tax but also showed the customer her health status, as the stamps were canceled with one of several words. On this stamp the cancel is a rare manuscript Ob for Observacion, meaning an inconclusive result to the test and no doubt resulted in a short interruption in activity until another test was performed.
